BRANTFORD, ON – The Brant County Health Unit (BCHU) is pleased to announce the two sites that will host upcoming COVID-19 mass immunization clinics. These sites will be located at One Market on the Wilfrid Laurier Brantford campus (1 Market Street. Brantford, ON.) and the Paris Fairground (139 Silver Street. Paris, ON).
It is expected that these sites will operate as Brant’s main mass immunization sites until the completion of Phase Two of the Province’s three-phased vaccine distribution implementation plan. The sites will run in conjunction with additional on-site and mobile clinics designed to vaccinate specific population groups. “We were overcome with offers from various community groups and organizations to use their space to host clinics,” said Jo Ann Tober, CEO at BCHU. “Our community has come together so much over what has been a very challenging year and it was wonderful to see the generosity and spirit we’ve become accustomed to, continued throughout this process. These sites were chosen because their combination of space, logistics and location made them the best fit for mass immunization delivery in Brant.”
These sites will begin operation next week. We are happy to announce that among the first groups to be vaccinated at these locations will be adults aged 80 years-of-age and older, who are residents of Brant. As we carry on working through groups in Phase One of the Province’s Vaccine Prioritization for COVID-19 vaccines, BCHU continues to reach out to individuals who qualify in other priority groups currently eligible to receive vaccine through their applicable workplace, setting or association.
All COVID-19 vaccination clinics in our community will continue be appointment based. BCHU, along with our community partners, would ask that residents please refrain from visiting these or any other vaccine administration sites without a prescheduled appointment. As we transition from the immediate priority groups in Phase One to the remaining, more community based populations in Phase One, more information on the appointment booking process will become available for further groups.
