BRANTFORD, ON – The Brant County Health Unit (BCHU) has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at New City Church located at 190 Lynden Rd., in Brantford.
The outbreak was declared on December 9, after six cases of COVID-19 were found in those who attended a service at this church that did not have clear, identifiable transmission sources outside of this facility.
As per typical case and contact management protocols, the individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 have been directed to self-isolate for 10 days.
BCHU advises those who attended the service on December 5 at 10:30 a.m. at this facility to isolate immediately until December 15 if they have not yet completed the two dose COVID-19 vaccine series.
BCHU would advise all those who attended this service to receive a COVID-19 test on or after December 12, even if they are not yet showing symptoms consistent with COVID-19. Assessment and testing can be booked through Brant Community Healthcare System or through participating pharmacies. If those who attended this service develop symptoms, assessment and testing should be arranged as soon as possible.
This establishment will remain closed.
