A healthy mouth is a key component to your overall quality of life. It allows you to speak, eat, and smile comfortably, contributing to your physical, social and mental health.
The Brant County Health Unit supports guidelines for the use of fluoride to prevent tooth decay. This mineral has been used since the 1940’s to promote oral health.
Eligible children and seniors can receive free dental care as part of the Healthy Smiles Ontario (HSO) and Ontario Seniors Dental Care programs. The goal is to ensure that individuals with low income status are still able to access dental care.
Our dental team also visits publicly funded elementary schools in Brantford and the County of Brant every year to check up on students’ oral health. In some cases, we are able to provide fluoride varnish treatments to strengthen teeth and fight cavities.
Brushing your teeth, flossing, regular dental visits, and a healthy diet contribute to good oral health.
